Question for The 5 Browns
Hello, it's been awhile since I've been on here, and I have a question I want to ask of you, but first let me catch you up on my life a little bit so you can understand where I'm coming from. I really wanted to be a music major for about three years until last year when I grew frustrated with it and decided to explore other options. Now I'm exploring other things, and I've all of a sudden fallen back in love with music again, but differently. Having been trained classically, I'm now exploring new territory in jazz, folk, bluegrass, songwriting, etc., while still playing classical, and I'm loving it. Before all of this, and during all those years that I wanted to be a music major I never practiced much. There, I said it.
Just wondering...
Hey, I'm new to this website and to the 5 browns too. But I just have a question for the 5 browns themselves, when did you guys start playing piano? Because I play the piano too. I'm just wondering and I hope you reply to this. But other people can reply to this too. I also want to say that you guys are fantastic at piano. I really want to play like you guys.

Desirae!! (November 15 - 20, 2008)
Greg to replace Desirae Brown on The 5 Brown concerts
Desirae is suffering from eye troubles, and in the interest of attaining proper treatment, she is stepping out of The 5 Brown's next set of concerts. Greg will fill her shoes for four concerts, [November 15 - 20, 2008] performing with Greg, Melody, Ryan, and Deondra Brown. The group of five pianists will perform several of Greg Anderson's compositions and arrangements for five pianos, as well as solos and duos.

Desirae, I hope everything is okay and that you'll find the proper treatment for your eyes.
Feel better soon!
Hugs from Jennifer
5 Stars CD?!
So ... I was browsing through my inbox and was looking specifically at an email from Amazon. I normally skim the product recommendations but a certain CD caught my eye. It turns out that the CD is a 5 Browns CD that I had never seen before. It's called "5 Stars: Favorites from The 5 Browns." According to Amazon, it was released this year and it contains tracks from all three of their CDs. It seems like the only semi-new thing would be the last track, Superstar Etude, since it was a bonus track for "Browns in Blue." I think it's an excellent CD for introducing others to The Browns but other than that there doesn't seem to be much to comment on. If you guys know anything about this CD and/or own a copy, please tell us about it!
Host future Brown Concerts
Hello Browns! Not sure how to email you directly, but hopefully you'll get this message. I want to host a Charlotte, NC show. Can you contact me?

OMG
I just saw the 5 Browns in concert last night!!! At McCarter Theater on the Princeton University Campus. (If any of the Browns are reading this, I was the girl in the first row, wearing the purple dress?!!). When we had originally ordered the tickets online we had bought tickets in the fifth row of the theater. However, the stage had to be expanded to accomodate the 5 Steinway pianos, so my seat was in the very first row, middle of the stage.
browns in blue exclusives
I was a little sad when I found out that there wasn't a dualdisc version of BIB but I was cheered up today when I went to buy the CD at Barnes & Noble. The "Barnes & Noble exclusive" includes a live track of Ryan playing Malagueña (the same song that he and Gregory played on No Boundaries). So far it's the only full track that I've listened to and I love it!
