Let's see...wedding, Japan, CD release...where in the world do I start?

So, I just got married! Well I wouldn't exactly say just...more like a little over a month ago. I'm sorry! I know I didn't let any of you know on here! But of course now you know why you haven't heard from me in about a year. Yeah it seems like every bit of free time I had left was spent building an amazing relationship with a guy named Casey Welch. So yes I'm now a Mrs. Welch! A friend came up to me the other day and jokingly called after me "Mrs. Welch!" and I had no idea who they were talking to. I'm definitely going to have to get used to this. Of course to all of you I'll still be a Brown. I mean how would that work...the 2 Browns, a Welch, Nielsen, and Luch? Sounds too complicated to me.

Anyway, of course there are many facets of life and music is definitely a huge part of mine right now. We've definitely been busy. For example, after the wedding we had 5 days for a honeymoon, then I had to take off for a concert tour in Asia for 2 weeks where he couldn't come. Yeah that was pretty difficult. But at the same time it was so amazing to be there. One thing that was really memorable was on our last day in Japan (Sendai, to be exact) we played in a handicapped school for some of the sweetest kids I think I've ever met. To see a girl with a sort of palsy in a wheel chair go up to the piano and play us some Mozart with partial use of her arms and hands, was almost more than I could handle without breaking down in tears. It was something so sweet that I think I'll forever remember. It's the experiences like these that make what we do so rewarding. It really puts it all into perspective.

So on that note I think I'll go to bed, seeing as though it's almost 2 am! We have a concert at Notre Dame tomorrow! Don't tell my family that I may be suffering from sleep deprivation . They may attribute every little problem to it tomorrow.
Which brings me to a small side note. We had a teacher at Juilliard who taught a class called ear-training (they teach you how to sight sing, pick out melodies by ear and write them down, and loads more crazy things...things I was not so great at). It was an incredibly nerve racking class since it would go around the circle of about 15 people and each question would pile up on the next so you had to be very alert to keep up with it all. When it came to you and and you were struggling (you never liked it when the rhythm of the class stopped because of your stupidity) our teacher, Mary Anthony Cox, would say in her southern drawl..."Honeyh, what time did you go ta bed last night?"... (you never actually answered this question for she would guess right after she asked it)... "3 o'clock?"..."1:45"... without fail she would always, I mean ALWAYS guess it right down to the exact minute!

So hopefully Ms. Cox is not in the audience tomorrow, or else she definitely would know. I swear I'm still paranoid...who wouldn't be? She could read your mind I tell you!
So wish us luck!
Love you all!
Melody

I just heard of your site tonight after the concert in Hays, KS. I wouldn't have thought to look for it otherwise. I have liked classical since I was a little girl and to see the 5 of you playing tonight was so great!|
Anyway, congratulations on your new marriage, I hope it brings you a life full of happiness.
And about that concert where you played to the handicap school, hearing of the little girl playing piano for you was very touching. What a special moment. Thank you for trying to make classical music popular again. Smiling
Sara

I just found your website and what wonderful news to hear right off. That's the three of you girls married then. I was just in Utah for a few days and drove up by the house. I couldn't help wondering what you were all up to; Now I know. I'll be ordering your new CD and can't wait to hear it. If you ever head Scotland way come see me and Olivia. She's in Manchester finishing her masters in opera performance and I know she'd love to see all of you. Love to your Mom and Dad and of course to all of you.

Hey! I am so excited for you! I think marriage is a wonderful thing. (wow, that sounded corny, but it's true) I wish my brother would get that into his head! (the hopes and wishes of a caring younger sister) Hey so you know what that means, Ryan and Greg? You need to get married! (no pressure) And if you don't you're gonna feel left out, if you don't already, but, I'm sure the right girl will come along soon. Congrats to you (Melody) and your husband. You all continue to inspire me. Keep up the good work!

Hey Melody, I just wanted to say congrats. Ernie told me the excelent news. I am so happy for you. Can't wait to see you guys in early January.

Holy Hannah! A day in the life of a Brown. Bet you guys wouldn't trade it for the world thoughÜ. Congratulations on the marriage, as well as the umpteen performances! I've been to one and it was enough to tide me over for a LONG time. I want to go to one more before my being out of the loop for two yearsÜ. How was the Notre Dame concert by the way?

Mrs. Welch,
Congratulations! I wish the two of you all the happiness in the world. May you live many wonderful and blessed years together. I know I don't have to tell you this, but always put God first in your lives and everything will work out.
It's so good hearing from you. I'm glad to know all is well with the "Brown" family. I figured you must have gotten married, because Greg Anderson said on his blog that he attended one of his best friends wedding.

By the way, the new CD is AMAZING! Love it!
God bless,
Leslie

Thanks for the update, Melody, and congrats on the marriage! It was nice seeing you all Saturday night. I was the one who told you I had also seen you in Atlanta and Knoxville, that's because that's the closest you guys have come to Virginia in each tour! Maybe make a stop in VA next tour?

Hehe thanks,
Kevin

Hey Melody (& all The [other] Browns)!
It's great to hear from you! First of all, huge congrats to you and your husband! I remember hearing something about all "3 Brown sisters are married" on one of the morning shows that you guys were featured on and I had thought I misheard but now I understand. Eye-wink Good luck with the concerts (though I have no doubt that you guys will kick music butt) and remember to sleep! Laughing out loud
