Hey everyone! I don't have too much time to write (since I'm actually supposed to be writing a sort of column for Clavier Magazine in which I have missed the deadline...), but I couldn't help but notice a comment on Desi's last blog from a Desiree Gonzalez. I couldn't believe it! Here she's from Monterrey Mexico asking if we're going to be there, and I'm here to tell you YES WE ARE! We're so excited about our first appearence in South America. We'll be first in Monterrey (the concert is on Mon. April 7 in the Luis Elizondo Auditorium and there is a speaking engagement we are giving on Sun. April 6, in the same area), then we'll be in Toluca on Tues. April 8, and sadly I don't have the concert hall information on that one. But we WILL be there!
Anyway, to Desiree and/or anyone else down in Mexico, spread the word because we ARE coming! And to everyone else that has been patiently posting on the message boards and on our blogs,we do see you and I've read all of your messages and I've written down things that I want to respond to. So definitely keep your eyes open for replies coming soon.
As for us? Well I'm doing really well knowing that spring is definitely in the air! It makes me so happy to step outside and have it be warm and sunny (well somewhat). We're all really looking forward to this Sunday with it being Easter! And yes, we're actually home for it. Of course we do leave early the next morning. But still, I have the best memories of Easter. When I was at Juilliard, it happened to be that Easter Sunday was sometimes the warmest, nicest day since winter starting to end in NYC. Everyone would be out in their Sunday best, girls in Easter dresses, guys in colorful pastel ties. You'd even get a few big floral hats in there! It made me happy to go to church and see so many smiling faces. Those faces really made me realize what the holiday symbolizes... the joy and praise of rebirth. If only we'll let ourselves feel the love, hope, and cleanliness that is offered us by someone who ultimately knows and loves us mor e than anyone. The warmth we see in those budding purple crocuses, even when there is snow on the ground, is what we feel in our souls. No matter how cold it is, there still is warmth enough for us to bloom again!
HAPPY EASTER! HAPPY PASSOVER! And ultimately Happy Spring to EVERYONE!

I am glad you guys are able to be home for Easter. I have many fond memories as well. My Grandparents always come over on Saturday night to color eggs and we always get a Papa Murphy's pizza. Then on Easter we have a big get together with all of my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Hello Guys!
I know it's been some time since you came all the way down here to Monterrey Mexico to give a MARVELLOUS concert! But I can't just stay without telling you guys how much I enjoyed your concert! It was an excelent performance!
I had been waiting for this concert for almost a year and 2 days before the concert I learned I had a conference at school at the same hour your concert was programed! So I sneaked out of the conference and it was TOTALLY worth it! hahahaha
Thankyou! =)
Thanks!!!
Hi guys!!
I still remember the first time I saw you, I was incandescently happy! I have like a thousand things I want to say. First of all, thank you for all the pictures you let me had with you. (because I don't know when will we meet again). I had a great experience during the fireside, thanks a lot for your speeches and testimonies, they were very fortifying. There's never enough time, I wanted to talked with you about piano stuff, piano works, artists, composers... but like I said, there's not enough time. I REALLY enjoyed your concert, I've never seen something like that!!! You break up the serious protocol making it fun and original ..in a very innovative way. I read in a Gyorgy Sandor's book that techique becomes music, and I definitely saw that in you!! You have a brilliant, soft and strong touch at the same time. Another thing (among many others I'm impressed) is that you really have the works technically under control and then you make the sweetest and finest interpretation with musicality overflowing in your entire beings. Every note was in its place, every phrase was carefully builded, every vituoso passage was succesfully done. Thanks for give me/us this great opportunity of listening true gifted pianists... There's something I want to ask.. How you do to have great dexterity and complete independence in the left hand? because mine doesn't work sometimes hahaha is very clumsy. please give me tips!! I'm playing Chopin's black keys etude.. kind of hard to me.. (desiree_g88@hotmail.com) By the way, I wanted to ask ( in the concert's questions part) Who is your favorite composer? I'm madly in love forever with Rachmaninov! His misticism, harmonies and melancholic feelings is what really attracts me. I also like Debussy, Ravel, Glinka, Chopin, Liszt...
There's nothing to say but a huge THANK YOU!!! God bless you!!
Regards,

Hi 5`s!
I have just heard to you tonight on the church.... amazing.... I love the way you play, and also when you sing! but more tha that , I think, I completly felt in love with the family, your testimony is one of the biggest that I have heard before, i can feel your music and voices inside of my heart, that is more than music, ther is God, talking to us, trough your souls...
so many Thanks for all your words, and for the way that you live your lifes because that is why you can do all this marvelous things..
Hey Gregory...!

The Planets
Just got back from your Madison show. My wife and I loved it. My mom is a piano teacher and we both have a lot of musicians in our families. We enjoyed the music, the showmanship, the style, and the background information. We hope you enjoyed the Overture Center and will come back again to perform. I imagine you get a lot of advice / requests, but one of my favorite composers and works of all time is Gustav Holst's "The Planets". I know it was originally written for 2 pianos, but obviously the full orchestral score is more well known. It'd be great to hear all 5 of you play it - or at least Mars or Jupiter. I see someone else commenting on here has a similar idea - perhaps you should consider that a sign. Great show tonight and we can't wait till you swing back through Wisconsin. I've gotta say - the jump from here to Central America (Mexico) is a pretty big one. Better than the other way around, though (or in January). Enjoy the trip and thanks!
Cedar Falls, IA Concert
Hello 5 Browns! My family and I attended your concert in Cedar Falls. It was a remarkable musical experience! I also met you at church today. I directed the music and was the one with the cranky, but very cute, baby girl.
I wish we could have talked longer, but I had to go home and put cranky Lydia to bed. My husband had knee surgery a week ago and does not move around well. He booked us tickets to your concert and because he is on crutches we had front row seats in the handicap section. It has been an incredibly tough time for our family. He has been off work for a couple of months because of his knee injury and with me working full time (teaching music), it has been a bit strained, to say the least. Attending your concert provided us with an opportunity to relax and unwind, something we have not done in a long time. We sincerely enjoyed your playing, comments, and the overall musical experience we had last night. Thank you very much and keep up the great work!
Mexico!!
I'm really amazed!! thanks a lot for your answer!!!
I'll be there!!!! I'm extremely happy!!! I already have the tickets!!!
I'm counting the days!!! everything it's going to be super cool!!!
I'll be in the fireside too!!!
have a save trip!!
until then!
